Suitcasing policy

Any non-exhibiting attendee observed soliciting business as a supplier is in violation of Show Management’s anti-suitcasing policy, will be asked to leave immediately, and is subject to additional penalties at the discretion of Show Management.

What is suitcasing?

Suitcasing is when non-exhibiting companies solicit business at a Sun Shading Expo North America-affiliated location. That includes, but is not limited to, the show floor, public spaces, events, restaurants and hotels.

All attendees are welcome at the show. But any non-exhibiting attendee observed soliciting business as a supplier is in violation of the policy.

Soliciting in the exposition

Suitcasing is strictly prohibited. Any non-exhibiting attendee observed soliciting business as a supplier or distributor is in violation of Messe Stuttgart, Inc.’s anti-suitcasing policy. Violators are subject to penalty at the discretion of Messe Stuttgart, Inc., including immediate expulsion and financial penalty.

Non-exhibiting supplier registration

Companies or individuals who provide products or services to the interior or exterior sun shading industry and choose not to exhibit are required to register as a Non-Exhibiting Supplier Attendee.

Non-exhibiting suppliers and distributors may attend for educational and networking purposes only, and are strictly prohibited from any form of sales, solicitation, order writing or marketing activity — on the show floor, in meeting spaces, or within any official event venue.

Show Management reserves the right to determine whether a company or individual qualifies as a non-exhibiting supplier.

Admittance and removal

At Messe Stuttgart, Inc.’s sole discretion and without refund, we reserve the right to refuse admittance to, or expel from, the event anyone we determine is behaving in a manner that could be disruptive to the event or to any other participant.

To protect the integrity of Sun Shading Expo and its exhibitors, Show Management reserves the right to verify attendee credentials at any time. Attendees may be required to present valid government-issued photo ID along with a business card or other proof of company or academic affiliation. Anyone unable or unwilling to provide verification, or found to be misrepresenting their business purpose, may be removed without refund and may be prohibited from future participation.

Why the policy exists

The anti-suitcasing policy protects the financial investment made by exhibitors. Exhibitors pay for access to the attendee audience, so we do not allow non-exhibiting companies to take attendees’ time and business away from our legitimate exhibiting customers.

What Show Management will do

Show Management takes preventative measures before the show and responds to all suitcasing complaints on site. Any attendee observed suitcasing will be asked to leave immediately and is subject to penalty, including loss of their company’s exhibiting priority points.
